1 left in cardiac arrest after being buried during drainage maintenance in S. Korea

SEOUL, May 27 (Xinhua) -- One worker was left in cardiac arrest and rushed to a hospital after being buried during drainage maintenance in South Korea's capital Seoul, Yonhap news agency said Wednesday.

It was reported at about 12:40 p.m. local time (0340 GMT) that the worker in his 60s was trapped under collapsing soil at a drainage maintenance construction site near a subway station in southeastern Seoul.

The worker was rescued in a state of cardiac arrest and transferred to the hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The police and the fire authorities were investigating the exact cause of the accident.
