2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift Spied in Red Colour Launch Next Year
Spied in Red Colour Launch Next Year

The upcoming Hyundai Verna facelift has been spotted testing once againthis time on public roads in South Korea, just weeks aftercamouflaged prototypes were seen testing in India. The new spy shots give us a clearer look at the refreshed sedans styling and hint at the updates Hyundai is preparing for its popular mid-size sedan ahead of its expected launch in late 2025 or early 2026.

Global Testing Confirms Development Is in Final Stages

The new images from South Korea show a red Verna test mule heavily camouflaged at the front and rear but with an exposed side profile. This is identical to the prototype seen in India, confirming that Hyundai is conducting simultaneous testing in both markets.

The mirrors, glasshouse, beltline, and character lines appear unchanged, aligning with expectations of a mild cosmetic update rather than a full redesign. Notably, the alloy wheels seen here are the same as the current India-spec Vernafurther suggesting the facelift will bring incremental tweaks rather than a drastic overhaul.

Exterior Updates: Sharper Front End, Revised Lighting

Camouflage at the rear hides the tail-lamp detailing, but connected LED taillampsnow a Verna trademarkare expected to continue with sharper internal graphics. The sporty fastback-style roofline remains unchanged. Up front, the facelift is expected to get:

A reworked grille

Updated LED headlamps

New DRL signature

Revised bumper design

New Curved Dual-Screen Cabin: Biggest Interior Upgrade

The biggest update is expected inside the cabin. Earlier Indian spy shots showed a new curved dual-screen setup, similar to the one introduced in the 2025 Hyundai Venue. The current Verna already offers dual 10.25-inch screens, but the facelift may upgrade to:

Dual 12.3-inch displays

A new, cleaner UI

Faster software and improved graphics

The test mule also showed a new D-cut steering wheel, finished in a slim and modern design again inspired by the newer Hyundai siblings. These changes should significantly elevate the Vernas cabin experience, adding a more premium and futuristic touch.

Safety: Already 5-Star Rated, Likely to Get Updated ADAS

The current 4th-gen Verna is already among Indias safest sedans, with a 5-star Global NCAP rating for both adult and child protection. For the 2026 facelift, Hyundai is expected to expand the ADAS Level 2 suite. Hyundai may refine the sensors and software for improved accuracy, mirroring upgrades seen in newer models. Existing ADAS features include:

Forward collision avoidance

Blind spot monitoring

Lane keep assist

Lane departure warning

Smart cruise control with Stop & Go

Rear cross-traffic avoidance

Driver attention warning

Powertrain Options To Remain Unchanged

As expected, the engine lineup will stay the same:

1.5L MPi Petrol

115 PS / 143.8 Nm

6MT / IVT gearbox

1.5L Turbo GDi Petrol

160 PS / 253 Nm

6MT / 7-speed DCT

These engines are already class-leading in refinement and performance and continue to be the Vernas strongest selling points against competitors like Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.

2026 Verna Facelift: India Launch Timeline

With prototypes testing in both India and South Korea, the facelift appears to be in the advanced stages of development. A global reveal may take place sometime in mid-2025, followed by an India launch later in 2025 or early 2026.

The refreshed Verna will continue to compete against Honda City, Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus. Interestingly, Skoda VW is getting ready to update their Slavia and Virtus as well. With updated screens, subtle design tweaks, and possible ADAS expansion, the 2026 Verna facelift aims to stay ahead in the hotly contested mid-size sedan segment.
