Full grain silos attract crooks
Seoul News.Net Monday 31st December, 2007
Record-high grain prices are attracting the strangest people and it’s not only grain market speculators who are paying attention to Kansas wheat prices.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into the theft of 9,000 bushels of wheat, valued at more than US$50,000 from at least four grain elevators in Syracuse, Kansas.
Wheat prices have roughly doubled in the past year, hitting an all-time of US$10 per bushel in mid-December at the Chicago Board of Trade, the world's largest grain exchange. Email this story to a friend
